Employee Performance Management: Solution Design

A proposed NestJS and React portal design for goals, KPI cycles, evidence, reviews, and approvals, with Employee Master data supplied through an external integration.

NestJSReact

Overview

Proposed architecture for an internal performance portal: NestJS backend and React frontend, with employee/role synchronization from an external Employee Master, goal and review state transitions, evidence and approvals, dashboards, audit history, and notifications. Deployment remains unconfirmed.

Architecture notes

  • Employee Master as external source of truth for employee data
  • Goal/review state transitions with role-aware access
  • Scoring, evidence, comments, and approval responsibilities as designed workflows
  • Audit history and notifications as cross-cutting design concerns

Problem

Goal-setting and review cycles are hard to make durable when employee master data, evidence, approvals, and dashboards live in disconnected tools.

Constraints

  • • Design and implementation prompts prepared; actual deployment unconfirmed
  • • No employee counts, adoption, or HR process savings claimed
  • • Separate from the NeoSOFT internal Employee Management platform name in the grouped experience list

Solution

Defined a solution design that treats Employee Master integration as a boundary, models goal/KPI/review states explicitly, and keeps implementation/deployment status honest.

Results

  • • Documented a coherent portal design for goals, reviews, and approvals.
  • • Clarified integration boundaries for employee master data.
  • • Left deployment and adoption claims unmade pending confirmation.

Lessons learned

Define employee-data ownership and review-cycle responsibilities clearly so that changes remain traceable.
